HOW MY DECEPTION FOR NOT GOING TO AMSTERDAM GETS REWARDED BY GOING TO THE CANARY ISLANDS!!

samedi 24 octobre 2015

Everything began on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015, when my friends and I regrouped in a Tapas Bar named "El Toro", which is quite nice by the way!
Well, we regrouped to talk about our soon to come weekend trip in the great city of Amsterdam on October 30th, happy girl that I am to go in Amsterdam on my birthday (the trip wasn't planned for my birthday but come'on they choose the date of my B-day weekend!!).
Well, my happiness did not last very long, since one of our "dearest" friends decided to call off on us...problem is, she was the one with the freaking car!!!
Totally disappointed, I want to cry my soul out, thanks to that girl, Amsterdam is now postponed to January 8th, 2016....I go home almost crying like a spoiled brat who didn't get what she wanted!!
The day after that I go to work, like every Thursday, trying to face quite normal, it didn't last either because while opening my email box I found ... not one but TWO email named something like "Fancy a weekend in Amsterdam?? Book with us!!" or "Amsterdam...the favorite destination for October"...PLEASE END ME NOW!!!
Then after watching my computer with a look that could kill a ghost...I go back to work has it almost never happened.
You think that my torment is over?...haha...no it is not! my colleague, seeing my sad face tried to cheer me up by telling me this "hey girl!! come I'll show you what you can visit in Amsterdam for your weekend, you'll have so much fun, Lucky you!", at this point, I was pretty sure... I had done something wrong and God or karma, or any forces in this great universe had something against me!
I go back to my post depressed like hell, when finally my boss came at me, telling me that he has a great news for me...at first I thought "he is going to finish me off with Amsterdam" well I waited, trying to figure out what he was going to announce me, finally he said "what do you think about ME sending YOU to the Canary Islands in December?"
"WAIT, WHAT????" was my first reaction (Inside my head of course).
Real reaction "I would LOVE it!!", "great I put your name on the list for it"....MEN, sometimes I really do love that job!!!
That's how I went from disillusion to amazingness in one day!!

What about you, tell me about your despair!!

WHAT TO DO FOR A WEEK IN LONDON !!

samedi 17 octobre 2015

N°1 Big Ben
Of course, you go to see Big Ben it's like the most important monument to see in London, according to to...well...almost everyone! You can't go home and tell your family and friends that you've been to London but you haven't seen Big Ben, it's like coming to Paris without seeing the Eiffel tower...aka NOT POSSIBLE!

N°2 Buckingham Palace
Well, I know that my picture isn't the best one of Buckingham but when I saw Australia written on it I couldn't ...not take that photo!! but I loved the fountain with the lions and all, the guards and their hats, amazing!

N°3 London Film Museum
It's not essential, the museum is rather nice, but not amazing, it is free though so if there's a moment when you don't know what to do you still can go over there, it's cool if it is raining outside and you're waiting to walk into a park or anything.

 N°4 The National British Museum
That one is very IMPORTANT, essential, everything, I've been there twice and I'll go again, I loved it and if you love museums that one must be on your TO DO LIST!!!!
 N°5 Sherlock Holmes House
Sherlock Holmes lovers you will like this one, enter into Holmes's hair, then buy everything you want in the shop...that one was my favorite part.

 N°6 The Tower Of London
No need for me to tell you that the Tower of London is the ESSENTIAL place you have to visit, it's like Big Ben you HAVE to visit it, it's not an option if you want to say that you've come to London!!
 N°7 London's Bridge
Amazing Vue, amazing place, a need to go, nothing more to say about!
N°8 Go to Restaurant with Funny Names
Yes I know I am taking a photo because the name of the restaurant is odd, come on, the guy named his restaurant "wee-wee" I couldn't resist!!
N°9 Shakespear Theater
Last but not the least, Shakespear Theater, not the real one, this one is a replica, because the real one is in the countryside somewhere, but the one in London still is great to visit!!

I've been to London two years ago for Halloween, of course, I've been to London many times since but not for Halloween and it changes everything!!
The city feels different, like you go to the London Dungeon which tells you all the horror tales of London, Like Jack the Reaper and all!!! then you prepare yourself for parties, in pubs, clubs or at friends, everybody is dressed up as Witches, ghost, vampires, demons etc...weird music, weird people, all fun, all night!
I love HALLOWEEN, my favorite party, probably because I celebrate my birthday at the same time...it's pretty cool I think!

What's your favorite party of the year?

THE TRAVELER'S BLUES

vendredi 2 octobre 2015

Ah, my friends, you know what it is, right? we all felt it at some point, us travel lovers, that terrible moment when we get back home after a certain period of time abroad, exploring, living our own life, and then you're home, you are happy for the first three weeks because you get to see the people you left behind while chasing your dream.
Then you start to feel like you're trapped all over again in that restraining cage, with all those people around you having those great expectations for you. They want you to go back to your studies or get a job, a "real job" (whatever that means), they want you to do what "normal" people do, they almost tell you to grow up and follow the "normal" path, the path of society.
But they just don't get it, they don't understand that traveling actually is a lifestyle, that we need to travel, to see the world and explore to be happy, push our limits, find our own way and not the one people dictate us.
I want to see and understand the world, not to restrain myself to a life other people think is the best for me just because it is the "normal" thing to do!
And that's mostly what the traveler's blues is, being told by other people that your dreams are just that...a dream and that you can fulfill it but only after having several degrees, a job, a car, and a house, actually, once you have the same life as everybody else.
Well don't go all depressing, the only cure for the traveler's blues is to go back, or at least plan another trip...I may have come back home, after Australia and I was happy for three days and then devastated for like two whole weeks when I decided that I was leaving again, so I left for England, then right away I went to Scotland,  after that I was leaving for Ireland, I barely spent four months at home on nine , and then in three weeks I am going to Amsterdam and for Christmas I've planned to go back to London...that is the only way that you'll feel better, for those like me who were touch by the wanderlust, it is impossible to stay put for too long, but just knowing that you'll leave sometime soon...makes you feel happy all over again!!
Don't forget that the only thing stopping you for what you want to do... is yourself, don't wait for people to tell you how to live your life...to see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of LIFE" I know I Watch too many movies but when I heard that quote...I just fell in love with it, it is soo inspiring!!

Don't you think?
