WHERE TO GO IN SYDNEY !!!

vendredi 26 février 2016

I've done a post on Where to go in Queensland and Northern Territory but there's also Sydney and Melbourne (I will write another post for Melbourne) that I've visited while in Australia.
I thought about it because there's plenty of people on my Facebook page who are going to Australia these days and they always asks about Sydney, what they can do? where they can go?...well I've decided to write about the places I've been, and the things I've visited!!

First my transcendent hotel:

WESLEY COLLEGE, NEWTOWN HOTEL SPACE

Near the city center of the Opera side of the bridge, the Newton Space Hotel, is amazing, you want to live your stay in a college, like you're a student in that beautiful place, well that how you feel, first of all, you feel like you've just been accepted to Hogwarts, then you enter and see that to check in you have to go in some sort of director's office (yeah that's kind of fun to me) and that your room, is a student room, problem you don't have anything to cook and you actually aren't supposed to eat inside your room, you have shared bathrooms...told you, you live like a college student, to me it was amazing times...

Where to eat:

GARDENER'S LODGE CAFE

It's quite expensive but a real pleasure for your palate! With a big breakfast for $20, you don't eat over there every morning, but if you want to change from the Mc Morning or the cereals you do eat every morning, go there even if it's a one-time thing!
Nestled inside Camperdown's Vitoria Park, near the University of Sydney as well, it is peaceful and you can enjoy a great time and breakfast, or lunch, the choice is yours....

What to visit:

THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

I am not going to lie to you, I've been a real tourist, I've visited what thousands of thousands of people had visited before me, but The OPERA is one of the major reason for visiting Sydney, but not the only one obviously!
It is even better in real life, I was so excited when I finally saw it, touch it even because I couldn't believe I was there...I don't have to tell you because you probably know it by now...I have a fascination for Australia, I've been there twice and I will go again, so ... Opera House it is not the last time we saw each other...and it should be the same for you...go, fall in love and never go back!

THE ROYAL GARDEN

Because you aren't lazy and you've done all the way to the Opera House on foot, you need to rest, there's no better place than the Royal Garden, everybody is there, but there's so much space that you can easily spread your stuff on hundreds of meters no one would notice! enjoy the company of birds you've never seen before in your life and a well-preserved vegetation!

THE LUNA PARK

All I have to say is that, I've visited it, it was fun, it was nice...but I was sick as hell!!! I could barely walk straight because I felt so bad during that day, the only thing I wanted was to go back to our student room so I could lie down and sleep all day...that happen sometimes after flying during 22hours and being jet lagged and other stuff that explains why you're sick the first few days...It was hard but I lived and enjoy myself later. So my advice, go there, have fun, take pictures, take selfies and then go on a merry-go-round...if you're not too sick!

THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE

Climb on it, walk on it, dance on it and go through it, there's no specific way to walk on a bridge, but you'll never regret to go on this one...one amazing Vue of Sydney (really good to take pictures) there's a bit of a wait to climb on the bridge...but come on you have to do it...even if it is not the last time you're in Sydney...you never know...life is too short not to climb on bridges!

GET LOST IN SYDNEY

 (Next to Wesley College)
 (Camperdown's Sydney)
 (Sydney's Harbour)
 (Hyde Park)
 (Amazing Weird Bird)
 (Sydney Marina)
 (Sydney Marina)
(artistic roundabout, next to Harbour Bridge)

I've told you already, the best way to visit a place, a city, a country is to get lost...choose a street and start over there, then wander, stroll, do it your own way...there is so much to see when you take your time, plus you live under the sun, do you know Something better than the sun to make you feel free and irrevocably better, I always feel better and happy when it  is warm and sunny out there...especially if I am abroad!
I could not give you a better advice than this one...according to me, it is the best!

I've been in Sydney for only a short period of time, but it is already part of my favorite cities on this Earth.

Do you agree? What do you think of Sydney?

MY FAVOURITES TRAVELLING SONGS !!!

mercredi 10 février 2016

I'm sure you've noticed too, that when you are traveling, songs have an immediate effect on your mood, or at least that is what's happening with me!
They have a tendency of making me feel free, whatever kind of songs I'm listening to, so I've decided to share the songs that affect me so much and makes me want to travel, even more, every time I listen to them.
first of all the Departure Song, that one of the most important, because it has the power to give you strength if, at the moment of leaving your home, you feel lost and not sure anymore of whether you want to go or not.

DEPARTURE SONG ( yes that how I call it)

Goodbye to you by Michelle Branch

I know that it is a very old song and that it is a love song but I can't change the way I feel when I listen to it, I just imagine that the words are about leaving your life and your loved ones behind to go and live your Dreams.
Since then I can't stop listening to that song when I'm on a plane or on a bus, a train well everytime I go away to live my life as I want it!

THE ROAD SONG ( Still actually calling it that way)

A Sky full of Stars by Coldplay

This is my favorite travel song ever, listening to it and picturing myself on the road, arms open through the roof window, feeling the Wind on my face, with the sun above me, is the next best thing in the world after when it actually happens.
That song is about finally getting the freedom I ever wanted, don't you feel it too? To me, this is the best traveling song of the world!

THE DREAMING SONG (no need for me to specify that I do call it dreaming song)

Somewhere over the Rainbow by Iz

Wow, listen to it and tell me that it's not giving you a feeling of joy and freedom and that you don't relate it to travels! It's calming and peaceful, and exactly what you need times to times to feel better on the road, helps me sleep sometimes! Great song when you feel alone at night.

HAPPY SONG (I'm actually not the one who calls it that way)

Walking on The Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves

Yes, I do love old songs, to me some of them are the best, probably because I'm nostalgic or Something!
That one, well what can I say about it that you don't already know, to get ready in the morning and have an amazing traveling day, enjoying life and the moment (because life is about the moments) there's no better song, And it always makes me want to dance even if I am in the middle of a very popular street.

THE SONG (I don't call it that but I never gave it a name so)

Maps by Maroon5

Driving fast (not too fast) and enjoying the moment, appreciate life and the opportunities that life has offered you, that if what that song is about to me, it's always what the song are about to me, (and you if you want to tell me of course) When I put on that song I'm no longer in this world, I focusing on the road in front of me, how fast I drive to make it even better, the feeling of speed, freedom, and Dreams that turns into reality.

THE TRAVEL SONG (To me that's the travel song because of Walter Mity)

Stay alive by Jose Gonzalez

Can I say Something more than what's just said in the title? Stay Alive, move, dance, scream, do what makes you the happiest person in the world that's what's important in our short lives.
We all end up the same, but it is our lives and what we did with them that matters, live your life as you want it.
If you want to be a working person and work for getting a greater paycheck well do it, if you want to have an amazing work that you love and not having anything else in your life well do it, if you want to never work and do nothing but going shopping or at the gym with your buddies well do it, and if you want to travel and live your life as a nomad always on the road well do it.
If you want to do everything that I just said or Something else, well the only person that it's stopping you from doing it is yourself...just stay alive!

This are my favorites but of course, I have plenty other songs that I find perfectly fit for travels, like Corson - Raise me up or even Nico&Vinz - Am I wrong, this one too George Ezra - Budapest. Well, you can see I have many travel songs on my iPhone. I these songs are an essential part of the travels.

Do you think that too? what's your favorite traveling song?

WHERE TO EAT IN AMSTERDAM !

dimanche 7 février 2016

I've been told that my previous post was good but, that I haven't shared any addresses, so I thought about it and yeah you probably want some addresses for your next trip to Amsterdam!
Well here are the places I've been!

Moeder's:

The Mother's restaurant, they actually collected pictures of the mothers of their clients, now on the walls, you can see hundreds of pictures along with antique pans, plates and biscuit tins. In that restaurant you'll taste their famous Hotchpotch (you can have it vegetarian if you like), that is kind of the traditional plate...the service is really nice, the food...was quite good, not amazing though but that's probably because I'm french we're kinda picky with food!
If you want traditional, go there!!

Toos&Roos :

Fan of pancakes and bacon, well in this place they kindly mix both with on top of its cheese and icing sugar! You prefer a little soup, worry not they have it too, pumpkin soup, thaï soup or chickpea soup, you have a choice and all of them are delicious and well presented, what about the service? the best you can ask for, great people, kind and happy to help if you need the advice to visit the City!

De Drie Graefjes:

Well, that is a place to go, ever tried a Crab Burger while drinking a leek soup, served with any kinda tea you like...well me neither until I went there...did I forget to mention the cupcake for desert? Yeah, I think the word you're looking for is YUMMIII!! Plus it is in the center of the City, right next to the shops and the train station, the souvenir shops and everything you want, it is in a small street so you can eat outside without being disturbed by all the people passing through! The girls that served are amazing, they're smiley and it is a real pleasure to eat there!

Café Josélito:

A really very nice Tapas restaurant, they speak English, Spanish, Dutch and French, all to say that they will understand you if you don't speak Dutch, personally I tried to speak Spanish (it's a tapas restaurant) but that was not a success, tried some Dutch that was worse, in the end, they decided for all of us that French was the best choice!
And well this time we ate like for real, not like babies, more like a football team!! I think we choose pretty much everything that was on the menu!!! Not my favorite Tapas restaurant but when you're hungry well I could eat an elephant (yes I do have amazing references...if you can't tell where that quote is from...I strongly suggest you Watch all the Disney again!!)

So that is every restaurant we've been, I don't have lots of addresses, Like I said in my previous Post 3days in Amsterdam I went partying in Leidseplein the pubs, bars and clubs are great, the drinks are a little expensive, like 5euros a shot!

And voilà, I hope you'll like this addresses and if you have any other ideas on where to eat in Amsterdam, please feel free to share it in the comments or if you ever went there I'll love to know what you think of them!!

Did you ever test those restaurants? Or do you want to try them?
