MY FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN AUSTRALIA!!!

dimanche 25 février 2018

I know it's been a while!
Things are kind of crazy these days, right now I just came back from the French Alpes and tomorrow I'm leaving for New-Zealand.
I'm sorry I've been away for a long while.

Anyway, today I've decided to tell you about my favorite place to eat in Australia, don't ask me why.
I just thought about it this week and I was thinking that I should write about it.

The place is called
LENTIL AS ANYTHING - FOOD WITHOUT BORDERS

I'm pretty sure I've told you about it in MELBOURNE: THE CITY TO SEE.
This place is just FANTASTIC.
They have breakfast, lunch and dinner, everything is VEGETARIAN and VEGAN, It's been 2YEARS since I've been there but I'm sure it's still AMAZING!!!
I can wait to go back there and see how it has evolved!

You can choose what you'd like to eat thanks to their buffet and enjoy a delicious meal with strangers that will turn into friends for a meal or longer!

WHAT IS LENTIL?

Share a good meal, talk to people and listen to some music with a warm and welcoming community. See how you feel about your meal then decide how much you want or can pay, and put your money in cute little boxes in the restaurant.
At Lentil As Anything they value trust, generosity, and respect, they don't care how much money you have, or if you don't have any money at all, you go there to share with others, and trust me when you feel alone, going there is the best way of making friends and say goodbye to your blues.
If you can't pay them with any money, they are more than happy to welcome you as a volunteer.

OR AS THEY SAY IT!

Their mission,

- Caring for people: Providing a wholesome and nutritious meal where money is not a concern.
- Promoting Multiculturalism: Fostering an environment of inclusion.
- Reforming Society: Acting on the structures of society to restore justice.
- Extending and spreading its Ethos and Values: Hiring volunteers, the long-term unemployed and marginalized.
- Encouraging: Young people to be active citizens and get involved in community-based initiatives.

WHERE TO?

Lentil As Anything
is based in:

- MELBOURNE: Abbotsford, Thornbury and St Kilda
- SYDNEY: King Street

That's it if you want more information here is the link: Lentilasanything

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD? Tell me in the comment!

I would love to know more places like this one, I really think that there should be more places like this one everywhere in the world.

MY OTHER POSTS ABOUT AUSTRALIA:

MELBOURNE: THE CITY TO SEE!!!

samedi 26 mars 2016

Hello guys,
I had such a busy month, I had not a single minute just to sit down and write in here!

Fortunately, that awful month is about to end. And just when I needed it, my traveling days are about to start again, next week I'll be flying out to Malta, so stay around to read all about it!
for now, I have nothing planned until well next week but then until July where I'll take the Eurostar to London with dear friends of mine, but it doesn't mean that I won't take off somewhere else in the meantime! "A real adventure soul does not have to plan and push for the next adventure, because it comes upon it itself" I don't quite remember where I've read that, I just wrote it down so I could write it in here hahah.

Enough talk about me, I kind of told you in my previous post "WHERE TO GO IN SYDNEY" that I would do one on What to do in Melbourne so this is it!

Melbourne is an amazing city, full of stuff to do, things to see, friends to make... When I was there at first I felt bad, it was a great city, too big for a small girl like me, still, I put my fears on hold and went exploring that famous place, and discovered that there was a lot to see!
Fashion, Sport, Food, drinks and parties...(I won't write them all) enough to say that you have a lot to do in here not to get bored or feeling alone, and yet I haven't done everything!

first of all, if you're a backpacker like I was, go eat there!

LENTIL AS ANYTHING

Go to one of their restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Abbotsford convent and in St Kilda, choose what you’d like to eat thanks to their buffet and enjoy a delicious meal, talk to people and listen to some music in a warm community space. See how you feel about your meal then decide how much you want or can pay, and put your money and cute little boxes in the restaurant.
At the Lentils they value trust, generosity, and respect, they don't care how much money you have, or if you don't have any money at all? you go there to share with others, and trust me when you feel alone, going there is the best way of making friends and to say goodbye to your blues. If you can't pay them with any money, they are more than happy to welcome you to help them at the Lentil.
EXPLORE THE ART CITY

When you visit Melbourne the first thing you learn about it is that it is one of the world's great street art capitals, you can see paintings everywhere in the city. Here are a few street art locations:
  • Hosier and Rutledge Lane, opposite Federation Square
  • Caledonian Lane, off Little Bourke Street
  • Union Lane, off Bourke Street Mall
  • Rear of 280 Queen Street in Finlay Avenue
  • 21 Degraves Street
  • Cnr Flinders Lane and Cocker Alley
  • 122 Palmerston Street, Carlton
  • Centre Place, between Collins Street and Flinders Lane
ST KILDA
( Sorry mates don't have many photos of St Kilda)
Just because St Kilda is a place of itself, and what an incredible place, Kitesurf spot, other sports spot and most of all, you can observe the penguin on the beach. Close to the city St Kilda, it's also restaurants, cafe, music... a place full of life! You can't go to Melbourne and not go to St Kilda Suburb, it was really one of my favorites!
I did not stay long, but there's plenty of things to do that I didn't, like go on a sky adventure in a Hot Air Balloon with "Global Ballooning Australia", the "Royal botanic garden" I did the one in Sydney though, the Luna Park still did the one in Sydney, and my favourite advice... I know I repeat myself but GET LOST!!! explore the City, on foot, on bikes, by tram...forget your car, your van, it's impossible to park and it's expensive, don't even think of not paying, you'll have a fine before leaving your car.

So these are my advise if you go to Melbourne, one thing you can be absolutely certain of, is that you'll make friends in the blink of an eye, you met someone and that someone tells you to come over tonight they have a party with many friends and BAM ! you have some more friends..of course I am not telling you to just follow any stranger that tells you to come alone over its place but trusting people from time to time is a good thing. Not everyone is Dangerous in this world, most of the people are amazing! I still have a few friends in Australia some I haven't seen in Four years and still we speak to each other, dreaming about the day we'll finally see (because yes I have not seen everybody last year) but these are the kind of friends you can make, people you won't see for a long time and yet still be close over the years.
What do you think about what I said, do you have long distance close friends too?
Hope you enjoyed the post, promise I'll try not to wait a month between post anymore, even in busy times! see you next time for my post about Malta!

WHERE TO GO IN SYDNEY !!!

vendredi 26 février 2016

I've done a post on Where to go in Queensland and Northern Territory but there's also Sydney and Melbourne (I will write another post for Melbourne) that I've visited while in Australia.
I thought about it because there's plenty of people on my Facebook page who are going to Australia these days and they always asks about Sydney, what they can do? where they can go?...well I've decided to write about the places I've been, and the things I've visited!!

First my transcendent hotel:

WESLEY COLLEGE, NEWTOWN HOTEL SPACE

Near the city center of the Opera side of the bridge, the Newton Space Hotel, is amazing, you want to live your stay in a college, like you're a student in that beautiful place, well that how you feel, first of all, you feel like you've just been accepted to Hogwarts, then you enter and see that to check in you have to go in some sort of director's office (yeah that's kind of fun to me) and that your room, is a student room, problem you don't have anything to cook and you actually aren't supposed to eat inside your room, you have shared bathrooms...told you, you live like a college student, to me it was amazing times...

Where to eat:

GARDENER'S LODGE CAFE

It's quite expensive but a real pleasure for your palate! With a big breakfast for $20, you don't eat over there every morning, but if you want to change from the Mc Morning or the cereals you do eat every morning, go there even if it's a one-time thing!
Nestled inside Camperdown's Vitoria Park, near the University of Sydney as well, it is peaceful and you can enjoy a great time and breakfast, or lunch, the choice is yours....

What to visit:

THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

I am not going to lie to you, I've been a real tourist, I've visited what thousands of thousands of people had visited before me, but The OPERA is one of the major reason for visiting Sydney, but not the only one obviously!
It is even better in real life, I was so excited when I finally saw it, touch it even because I couldn't believe I was there...I don't have to tell you because you probably know it by now...I have a fascination for Australia, I've been there twice and I will go again, so ... Opera House it is not the last time we saw each other...and it should be the same for you...go, fall in love and never go back!

THE ROYAL GARDEN

Because you aren't lazy and you've done all the way to the Opera House on foot, you need to rest, there's no better place than the Royal Garden, everybody is there, but there's so much space that you can easily spread your stuff on hundreds of meters no one would notice! enjoy the company of birds you've never seen before in your life and a well-preserved vegetation!

THE LUNA PARK

All I have to say is that, I've visited it, it was fun, it was nice...but I was sick as hell!!! I could barely walk straight because I felt so bad during that day, the only thing I wanted was to go back to our student room so I could lie down and sleep all day...that happen sometimes after flying during 22hours and being jet lagged and other stuff that explains why you're sick the first few days...It was hard but I lived and enjoy myself later. So my advice, go there, have fun, take pictures, take selfies and then go on a merry-go-round...if you're not too sick!

THE SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE

Climb on it, walk on it, dance on it and go through it, there's no specific way to walk on a bridge, but you'll never regret to go on this one...one amazing Vue of Sydney (really good to take pictures) there's a bit of a wait to climb on the bridge...but come on you have to do it...even if it is not the last time you're in Sydney...you never know...life is too short not to climb on bridges!

GET LOST IN SYDNEY

 (Next to Wesley College)
 (Camperdown's Sydney)
 (Sydney's Harbour)
 (Hyde Park)
 (Amazing Weird Bird)
 (Sydney Marina)
 (Sydney Marina)
(artistic roundabout, next to Harbour Bridge)

I've told you already, the best way to visit a place, a city, a country is to get lost...choose a street and start over there, then wander, stroll, do it your own way...there is so much to see when you take your time, plus you live under the sun, do you know Something better than the sun to make you feel free and irrevocably better, I always feel better and happy when it  is warm and sunny out there...especially if I am abroad!
I could not give you a better advice than this one...according to me, it is the best!

I've been in Sydney for only a short period of time, but it is already part of my favorite cities on this Earth.

Do you agree? What do you think of Sydney?
